    SGS BANGLADESH Services:

    For the seafood industry SGS provides technical training to assist seafood export facilities to implement and maintain Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) management systems. These managements systems are critical in the industry to allow for access to both the European and Unites States markets and they involve the independent auditing by fully qualified and internationally trained SGS staff on a regular basis to ensure compliance.

    SGS offers a wide range of services for consumer goods. In Bangladesh we are very active in the Ready made Garments (RMG) industry where SGS acts for both international and local clients to ensure full compliance with Quality and Quantity requirements.

    SGS was instrumental along with a number of international aid agencies and NGOs in the establishment of the SA 8000 (Social accountability) standard. Based upon he ISO series this management system seeks to assure buyers and consumers alike that the goods they purchase come from factories that do no engage in, e.g. child labour, forced labour, unsafe work practices, sexual harassment, poor wages and in general “sweat shop” working conditions. In Bangladesh we conduct audits to this and clients’ own Codes of Conduct Standards.
